St. Lawrence University: Vertebrate Natural History
VNH at SLU (Fall 2005) focused attention on getting students aware of the natural world around them. We learned specific techniques to handle and observe animals as well as communicate observations in natural history journals. Students collected animal tracks throughout the semester and developed independent research projects that focused on observations of their favorite animal in the North Country woods. Labs included practice with radio-telemetry, minnow trapping, glow-dusting rodents, birding, canoeing, and numerous nature walks.
